Cape Town City goalkeeper Darren Keet says they are looking to do the DStv Premiership double over Kaizer Chiefs when they meet at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It will be their third meeting this season, and while Chiefs beat City in the MTN8 quarter-finals, City were victors in the first round of the league.
City are currently fifth, while Chiefs are seventh, and both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways, with Chiefs last losing in the Soweto Derby, while City had back-to-back defeats against Stellenbosch and Royal AM.
When asked by iDiski Times if City’s defence have been working a way to negate Chiefs’ speedy and dangerous attack, Keet said they had been.
“Well definitely…” Keet replied.
“But we’re not going to tell you what it is,” he added with a cheeky smile.
“We’ve been working hard for the last two weeks, and heading into this week, so we’re grinding away but we’ve got things in mind of what needs to be done.”
Keet said that they’re looking for all three points, and doing the league double over Chiefs.
“Obviously, you know in previous games they got ahead of us in the cup in the MTN8 and now it’s time to make sure we get the double on them in the league,” Keet added.
“So that’s definitely what we’re going for, and it doesn’t matter who we come up against, we approach the game in the same way, and this one’s no different.”
City do have a good recent league record against Chiefs, winning five out of their last six clashes.
