Kekana Predicts Tough Game Against Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana has predicted a tough clash against Kaizer Chiefs but insisted his side will be ready.

Sundowns will welcome Chiefs in a sold-out affair at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Amakhosi are coming to this game with hope of getting three points and cement their CAF inter-club spot. While Sundowns aim to keep the first-place and keep their title defense intact.

Amakhosi has already done damage to Pirates’ title aspirations after playing a 1-1 draw before suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Siwelele FC in Bloemfontein last week.

Meanwhile Sundowns managed back-to-back wins against Polokwane City and are 18 games unbeaten in the league. However, Chiefs also Sundowns to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture and could again try to dent Masandawana’s title hopes.

Kekana believes it won’t be easy to play against an in-form Chiefs side but his side are prepared for the fight.

“It’s going to be a tough game. I think they’ve done well, especially in the second round, to be in the position that they’re in,” Kekana told the media.

“So despite them having lost against Siwelele, we know what the form has been like, so we’ll be wary of it.

“But we’ll obviously plan to nullify it on the day, so it’ll be a tough game, but one that will be prepared for.”
