Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye believes his former side cannot play when Gaston Sirino is not on song saying he’s the kind of player a coach doesn’t sub even when he’s having a bad game.
Sirino has been instrumental for Amakhosi under Nasreddine Nabi since arriving at the start of the season. The 31-year-old has two goals and three assists in all competitions but couldn’t help his side avoid a 1-0 defeat in the Betway Premiership this past weekend, lasting just 57 minutes as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.

Khanye admits Sirino was frustrated against Matsatsantsa however should have stayed on because he is a special player who makes the team look competitive.
“When you look at the game overall, Sirino was nowhere to be seen but you don’t sub Sirino,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“He is one of the best at Kaizer Chiefs. He is a special player not just at Kaizer Chiefs but even in the PSL. He is the player that makes Kaizer Chiefs look glamorous. He makes them look like they can challenge for the league or any trophy.
“When Chiefs has the ball Sirino can move anywhere, he is playing sort of a free role. Once he starts combining coming in central and there is no cover he is going to finish you. Decision making, brain, skill and technique, he is something else.
“Today they kept him on the line. When he came in central, he met Tyson Hlatshwayo, [Siphesihle] Ndlovu was also there so it was difficult for Kaizer Chiefs it forced them to play long balls. The coach saved him and subbed him but truly speaking he doesn’t have players.”
