Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has discussed clubs that could be suitable options for Khama Billiat should things between the player and Chiefs not get cleared.
The attacking midfielder’s contract with Amakhosi ended last month with Chiefs revealing that they have tabled a new offer for the player, however, he did not respond and attempts by the club to contact him have turned fruitless since 29 June.
It is believed that the biggest obstacle between the parties is money with the club allegedly wanting the player to take a pay cut.
Billiat has made 126 appearances for Chiefs, scoring 24 goals and has 29 assists but he only played nine times last season due to injuries.
Khanye says Orlando Pirates, Swallows and Cape Town City are good options for the former Mamelodi Sundowns man.
“Certain teams sign players because they played for Kaizer Chiefs but he is quality. He knows football,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.
“The best one vs one. There are just a few players that can deal with that, his one vs one. I don’t care who says what but currently a lot of players cannot deal with a one vs one situation. He’s an attacker who can eliminate, score with both feet and has a good first touch.
“I think the way Pirates plays suits him. Right now what matters most is money. I mean when I look at the current situation in football a player can change teams depending on who manages them, who they know and the relationships they have built.
“I think if they can forget about other things Pirates is suitable for him. If not, he can look at Swallows, Steve is there. I’m sure there is a lot of things Steve wants to change there and to bring in quality players.
“So I’m just saying that’s another option for him, if Pirates doesn’t sign him. Even Cape Town City is an option. Tinkler knows football I think it can suit him.”
