iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye is of the notion that Orlando Pirates gave Mamelodi Sundowns too much respect in their top-of-the-table Betway Premiership clash.
The Buccaneers came into the clash somewhat as favourites because of their impressive run that has seen them maintain top spot for a number of weeks.

Odds were stacked against Sundowns due to their inconsistent run of form across all competitions but Wednesday was a different ball altogether as Miguel Cardoso’s troops stepped up to upset their rivals 2-1 at FNB Stadium.
Colombian striker Brayan León Muñiz’s first-half brace was enough to see Masandawana narrow the gap on Pirates to just three points with a game to spare while Patrick Maswanganyi netted for the Ghost
Khanye believes that Pirates’ unusual approach to the game handed Sundowns the upper hand.
“I think Orlando Pirates approached the game totally different. Pirates overloaded the midfield,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.
“They waited for Sundowns. They respected Sundowns and Sundowns after 25 minutes they gained confidence.
“Pirates the mistake they made was not playing through the midfield. [Makhehleni] Makhaula never played, [Masindi] Nemtajela never played.
“Not to say they [Sundowns] outclassed Orlando Pirates. Pirates also had their moments.”
Both teams switch their focus to the Nedbank Cup Last 16 fixtures on Saturday as Pirates take on Casric Stars while Masandawana are up against TS Galaxy.
