Khune Calls Out ‘Disrespectful’ Chiefs Players

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has referred to the club’s players as ‘total disrespect’ after their thumping Soweto Derby defeat to Orlando Pirates.

This comes after Amakhosi’s heavy 3-0 loss to their fiercest nemesis at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys also succumbed to their fourth straight defeat in all competitions. They lost 2-1 to Zamalek bowing out of the CAF Confederation Cup and then failed to defend their Nedbank Cup title after being dumped out by Stellenbosch FC at the first hurdle.

Stellies then piled more misery on them by beating them 2-1 in midweek league action before their Soweto Derby loss.

Chiefs remain in fourth place with 30 points after 17 matches and will find it hard to challenge for the Betway Premiership title which now seems to be a two-horse race between Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Khune, who is still regarded as one of the best goalkeepers to have emerged from the club’s development ranks going on to make over 300 appearances, took to his Instagram stories to have a go at the club’s current players.

“At least RESPECT the CHAIRMAN, LEGENDS and the AMAKHOSI DIE HARD SUPPORTERS Gents,” he said.

“Total Disrespect.”

Amakhosi will now look to bounce back when they take the trip to KwaZulu-Natal to face Richards Bay at uMhlathuze Stadium on Tuesday, 3 March.
