Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has praised some of Amakhosi’s new signings and pleaded with the club’s fans to give new striker Flavio Silva more time.
Chiefs have announced six new players so far, with Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane joining from Orlando Pirates, while Siphesihle Ndlovu joined from SuperSport United.
Ethan Chislett was lured from England to Mzansi, while Nkanyiso Shinga joined from Portugal, and new striker Silva was picked up after impressing in Indonesia.
Khune believes Mako and Monyane will add winning mentality to the club, while he has seen glimpses from Shinga and Chislett already, and Silva needs to be given more time after the club only scored three goals in their six pre-season friendlies so far.
“When you talk about Paseka Mako and when you talk about Thabiso Monyane, they are bringing that winning mentality from Orlando Pirates,” Khune said on SABC1.
“And I was quite impressed with the like of Shinga, Chislett, and of course we need to give Silva a fair turn.
“We only just debate him in the first games that we’ve seen him play but he’s definitely going to show us what he can bring to South African football.”
