Magesi FC head coach Clinton Larsen is amped up to have his charges recharged against a wounded Kaizer Chiefs.
Magesi, who majority thought would be the whipping boys following their topflight promotion, seems to have been settling in well and are on a good run in four matches without a defeat having defeated Orlando Pirates to reach the Carling Knockout Cup quarters and held Cape Town City to a goalless draw this past weekend. They are in 13th spot having won one, drawn two and lost two of their opening five Betway Premiership fixtures.

Larsen was pleased with his side’s performance but made it clear that with them having a thin squad they will have to manage the players well to carry them throughout the season. The Limpopo-based side play Chiefs on Wednesday before facing TS Galaxy on Sunday.
“Without the depth in our squad, that’s why earlier on I spoke about the work our fitness coach is doing,” Larsen told the media.
“We got to rely on this core group of players to carry us through this period, so, they going to have to go again.
“Hopefully, we can manage the minutes in the next game against Kaizer Chiefs and save some legs for that cup game but we can’t put preference from one over the other.
“If there’s a possibility to get a point or three against Chiefs, that’s our most immediate task, what happens in the cup, we will face when the time comes.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have the depth, but we want to win each game, so, we going to try out to put our strongest team.
“We’ve got great medical staff that can get the boys to recover, Monday and Tuesday we don’t train at all so that we can reload those batteries for Wednesday against Kaizer Chiefs.”
