The domestic violence charges against former TS Galaxy striker Thamsanqa Gabuza have been dropped after a mediation agreement with his former partner Zikhona Zode.
The veteran striker appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates Court in November on allegations of attempted rape and malicious property damage, and domestic violence.
Galaxy have since also deemed him surplus to requirements, and dropped him from the squad, although he’s still being paid until the end of the season.
However, Gabuza’s court case was now also dropped after the complainant, Gabuza’s (former) partner Zode withdrew the charges following a mediation agreement at the Alexandra Magistrate Court on Thursday, as per Sunday World.
Gabuza joined Galaxy at the beginning of this season after leaving SuperSport United at the end of last term. At Galaxy, he made just eight appearance without scoring a goal.
He made his last appearance for Galaxy on 8 November in a game against Moroka Swallows, coming from the bench in the 70th minute to replace Lehlohonolo Mojela.
The former Bafana Bafana striker spent six seasons with Orlando Pirates between 2013/14 and 2018/19 seasons, winning the Nedbank Cup in his debut campaign, and featured for SuperSport between 2019 and 2023.
