Angolan giants Petro de Luanda are looking to keep Orlando Pirates winger Deivi Miguel Vieira, better known as Gilberto, despite his loan spell expiring in December last year.
Gilberto joined the Buccaneers in July 2024 after good two seasons at Petro de Luanda and in the Angola national team, but things did not turn out well for the 24-year-old as he played less than 400 minutes at Pirates.
He was shipped back to Petro on a one-year loan in January 2025 which ended in December 2025, and it has now been reported that the Angolan outfit are keen to keep hold of the Pirates man despite the current loan having expired.
However, with Gilberto’s contract at Pirates said to still be running until 2027, any move to prolong his stay will depend on the two clubs finding common ground in negotiations.
