Renowned football agent Mike Makaab has tipped Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Bennet Mokoena for a massive future in the game.
Represented by Pro Sport International, Mokoena is one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the Masandawana academy, having already secured a senior team contract.
The 19-year-old made his first-team breakthrough with two impressive cameos in the Betway Premiership last season.
He made his debut against Golden Arrows, playing 31 minutes in a 1-0 defeat and followed it up with a 23-minute appearance in a 4-1 thrashing of Richards Bay, impressing in both outings.
Mokoena went on to enjoy a stellar campaign with the Tshwane giants’ reserve side, netting an incredible 22 goals in just 26 matches—falling just three goals short of Boitumelo Radiopane’s all-time DDC record of 25 goals in 2020/21.
To cap off a remarkable season, the teenager scored against Bundesliga heavyweights RB Leipzig in the 3-1 inaugural Diski Last Namba friendly win at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
With a glittering start to his career, Makaab is confident that the football world has only seen the tip of the iceberg from Mokoena.
“He’s got a great future, a wonderful young man that comes from a fantastic background and family,” said Makaab during the interview with iDiski Times.
“I think we’re going to see great things from Bennet in the future. He’s got a senior contract and won the CAF Champions League with the club last season.”
