Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has replied to a question on whether he uses muti, saying he only uses salt.
Makhaula was on #MSWOn947 on Monday along with striker Andre De Jong and Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi celebrating their league title and overall success that includes the MTN 8 and Carling Knockout triumphs.
Pirates have long been suspected to be using muti, especially during pitch inspections at stadiums.
In a relaxed environment in the studio with Robert Marawa, Andre De Jong was candidly asked if he has been introduced to any strong muti by his teammate, and the New Zealander laughed while answering no before Makhaula shared his side.
“Till today [I use] salt,” said Makhaula.
“I’m using salt. You just put it in a warm bath, put salt bath with it, it’s okay.
“I use it at my house and before games I also use salt and not at the stadium. It helps me with calmness and if someone comes with muti it won’t work.”
Pirates won their first league title in 14 years, adding on to their MTN8 and Carling Knockout triumph in 2025/26.
