Makhoye On Lack Of Signing A Striker

Orbit College head coach Pogiso Makhoye has not shied away from the need to get a goal poacher though they don’t have enough means to get what they want.

Orbit have scored just 14 goals but equally conceded the most of any team this season (32).

Mswenko Boys looked well back on track after starting the season slowly following the arrival of Monnapule Saleng on loan from Orlando Pirates.

The speedy winger was eventually sold to Mamelodi Sundowns and the Betway Premiership rookies have since struggled to kick in again as they sit in 15th position, three points above bottom-dwellers Magesi with the latter having played two games less.

Makhoye believes that getting a striker is what they need at this moment, but unfortunately, they can’t afford paying transfer fees with the coach being transparent about struggling without having sponsorship and relying more on getting players as free agents.

“We have to be worried that is why I am saying we need a goal poacher because we don’t have that person that can take the responsibility of finishing the ball,” Makhoye told the media.

“We had a good chance there with [Mbulelo] Wagaba inside the box when it was 1-0 and he just blew it over. When the opponents score so early you start rushing maybe that’s why we couldn’t convert.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have sponsorship we look who is free in the market, so we are looking.”
