Mammila Opens Up On Next Job After Shock Chippa Exit

Former Chippa United coach and Technical Director Morgan Mammila has immediately switched his focus and is aiming to work for a top eight team after his shock exit from the club.

Mammila was shown the exit door at the Gqeberha-based outfit after serving in both coach and Technical Director capacities, aiding them to preserving their topflight status by finishing in 12th position after they flirted with relegation for sometime during the course of the season.

iDiskiTimes first reported that Mammila had been released from his duties at the Chilli Boys, and he later confirmed the news on Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube.

Chippa’s 12th-place finish was also the second highest position they had achieved since the 2019/20 season when they ended in 11th place with the same number of points (34).

Speaking to Ncube, Mammila confirmed his departure from the Chilli Boys, and that he’s now targeting to work with a top eight team.

“I’ve tasted a top eight team with [Moroka] Swallows, I thought maybe this top eight will rub shoulders with me. Now I need to go to a team that will enjoy being in the top eight, a team that will run its affair,” Mammila said.

“I’m lucky person, I can be a coach, I can be a technical director, I can be an administrator, I can work with supporters. I’ve done so many things.”

Mammila is also working on his coaching badges, and recently completed phase one of the CAF B Diploma Coaching Course. He is strongly linked with a sensational return to his former side Baroka FC, who are in the promotion/playoffs along with Richards Bay and University of Pretoria.
