Mammila Talks Up Mosele’s Bafana Chances

Morgan Mammila believes there is still a chance for midfielder Goodman Mosele to sneak into the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The last time the 24-year-old was in the national team was in September last year before enduring injuries.

He is currently on loan at Chippa, where he has played 10 matches in all competitions and scored one goal this season so far.

Mammila spoke to iDiski Times Writer Lethabo Kganyago in the current edition of the newspaper about Mosele, saying he believes the former Baroka FC man is on the right track in terms of getting back to his best, also citing the number of Man of the Match awards under Mosele’s belt this season.

The coach, who worked with the player at Baroka albeit in a managerial role, believes that what happened with Evidence Makgopa at the recent FIFA World Cup Qualifiers could also happen to Mosele.

“I think once a player gets so many Man of the Match [awards- three] it means he is in good shape,” Mammila told iDiski Times.

“The only thing to do is to remind the national team coach that ‘Hey, look at this young man, are you not happy with him? He is the same player that you spotted, so why can’t you take him?’ The chance is still there.

“We still have a month-and-a-half of football, anything can happen. You saw that Makgopa [Evidence] didn’t make the 23-man squad but suddenly in the last minute, he was in the team.

“Same applies to Mosele; anything is possible, he can also sneak into the national team and I think he will be the happiest man, if he can make it to the AFCON.”
