Manqoba Makes Huge Arrows Admission

Manqoba Mngqithi has not written off a potential return to Lamontville Golden Arrows after his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns.

After spending more than a decade at Sundowns Mngqithi was confirmed to have been sacked by the league champions and replaced by Miguel Cardoso.

Within a day of his exit from Sundowns, there have been rumours linking him to Arrows after Mabhudi Khenyeza resigned.

Mngqithi was thankful to Arrows and stated that he is willing to help the side but obviously, he will look at the project, speaking with Robert Marawa on 947 Radio.

“I will always be open to assisting at Golden Arrows in my life because I still feel indebted to that club because that club made me the person that I am they gave me an opportunity in a time when no team in South Africa could take that risk,” Mngqithi said on Wednesday.

“When a team is number 16 on the log and they only have 12 points after 15 matches and then they say we want Manqoba to be the head coach, not even interim coach to become the head coach of the club because we believe he can save us…

“That confidence is something that I will forever indebted to because nobody would give away R50-million status to a coach that has never coached in PSL before.

“I had been an assistant for probably one and half years and they gave me that opportunity that for me I will always be indebted to them.

“I will always want to help whenever that possibility comes but I will have to listen to the projects that come in front of me.

When he was asked if there had been any contact from Arrows, Mngqithi remained coy in his response.

“I wouldn’t want to disclose what is happening now.”
