Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane has revealed that staying calm helps him cope with the pressure that comes with being a Chiefs player on and off the pitch.
Mdantsane joined Chiefs at the start of this current season on a three-year deal, having come through the youth ranks at Amakhosi.
Mdantsane spoke to iDiski Times Senior Writer Velile Mnyandu recently, saying he knows there is huge expectations from the club’s supporters for results, especially with the side having not won any trophy in eight seasons.
The former Baroka FC and Cape Town City man says staying calm, while helping the team get results is what will help alleviate the pressure.
“Obviously you have to stay calm as a player, always try and focus. Pressure is there, always. It’s you as a player how you deal with the pressure,” said Mdantsane.
“But yeah man the fans, they deserve more, we as players also we deserve more, we deserve to win. We are here to try and win and we are taking it one game at a time.
“Yes, it’s still the start of the season and we know what’s at stake and what the team needs and what the team deserves.
“So we are focused and we just want to take it one game at a time and try to win as many games as we can. We will try and get along, along the way and just try and push each and every day.
“Obviously as a team, we are more focused on one game at a time. You know we are trying to get one game at a time trying to win as many games as we can but our focus is our next game.
“The more we win the more we know where we are going to end, but yes we want to win trophies but right now we are focusing on our next game.”
