Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala has named the greatest achievements of his career so far, among them his first team debut.
Shabalala, 22, was promoted from Amakhosi’s development ranks in December 2022 having impressed for the reserve side and also in the national junior teams.
He’s gone on to become an integral part of the side’s attacking department and was part of the team that broke Chiefs’ 10-year trophy drought two seasons ago and reached the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup last term.
He said during a Q&A with PUMA after being named the face of their South African campaign for the new PUMA ULTRA 7 football boot, that winning the Nedbank Cup also ranks high on his list of accomplishments.
“Making my debut for Kaizer Chiefs,” said Shabalala.
“Representing Bafana Bafana for the first time and winning my first ever trophy, the Nedbank Cup.”
Shabalala also spoke about his preferred style of play saying he appreciates creative players who play with confidence.
“My favourite type of player is one who plays with confidence, creativity, and freedom,” added Shabalala.
“I enjoy watching players who can express themselves, excite fans, and make a difference in games while still working hard for the team.”
