Mngqithi – They Apologised And I Accepted

Former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi opened up on the rumours that there were squabbles between him and some senior players at the club.

Mngqithi took charge of Sundowns at the beginning of the season, after a few games into the season, there were rumours that there had been an issue between him and some senior players.

The former Lamontville Golden Arrows coach stated that there were players who made mistakes, and they apologized but remained coy about which players were those.

“I am one person who does not want to hang my dirty linen in public and surely for good reasons that these are other people’s kids, and they still have a future in football,” Mngqithi told Robert Marawa on Radio947.

“And the moment I say negative things about players in a public domain I’m being unfair because people will use that against some players and if somebody has done me something wrong its better if I deal with it and solve it one against one and once it’s solved, I move on.

“And once somebody has realized his mistake and apologized, I also move on, so I wouldn’t want to dwell on those issues because I think I will affect the careers of these young kids, and these boys are our kids, and we have a responsibility to them as the seniors.

“There are players that made mistakes and apologized, and when they apologized, I accepted.”
