Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe has admitted that his side’s Betway Premiership results against Mamelodi Sundowns, TS Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs at home have been the most special so far this season.
Rise and Shine stunned the defending champions 1-0 in October, drew 1-1 with the Rockets at home before humbling Amakhosi 2-0 on Sunday which moved his team third on the log with 17 from 10 matches.
Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi made a statement that Mohafe is the next big thing in South African football coaching after their loss to City.
Speaking to the media after the match, Mohafe said he rates these results highly as they reflect the work done by the Limpopo side.
“Up to so far, I can say they [matches] are special matches that Polokwane City has played. I think we have treated them well,” Mohafe told reporters after the Chiefs win.
“I think it’s Sundowns, it’s Chiefs and it’s TS Galaxy, because Galaxy is a strong team, is a strong team, and it’s stronger than Chiefs and Sundowns, according to me.

“They are very difficult that team to beat. So, these three matches have been the mirror of what we are doing as the technical team of Polokwane City and as Polokwane City as a whole.”
