Mohafe – I’m An Unknown, Let’s Continue This Way

Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe says he’s proud that his team keeps doing well in the top-flight, even though many still see them as “nonentities.”

Mohafe was speaking after guiding Rise and Shine to a 1-0 Betway Premiership victory over AmaZulu at the Princess Magogo Stadium last Wednesday.

The Limpopo side finished in seventh place in the league table last season, earning a spot in this season’s MTN8 competition.

They have made another strong start to the current season, sitting fifth in the standings with 19 points from 12 matches.

Mohafe admitted that his squad may lack glamour, with both him and his players often labelled as unknowns, but he insists they’re determined to keep making their presence felt.

“I think with the squad I’m having, people might say, it’s the nonentity, unknown players, but if they are not unknown, who will know them if I don’t introduce them,” said Mohafe.

“No one will know them. Let’s introduce them to the world, let’s introduce them to the sharks and they must swim with the sharks.

“So, now they are swimming with the sharks, that’s the most important part for me and for us.

“You also say, what about the coach? He’s also an unknown coach, so let’s continue like that.”
