Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango says being on the sidelines has not made him do any extraordinary things as it’s normal in football to go through different seasons.
The former TS Galaxy man has only featured twice for Chiefs in all competitions this season a far cry from the 30 appearances last term.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi has so far preferred the centre-back pair of Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley thus far.
“For me, it’s just to stay professional [like] the professional that I am,” Msimango said about his peripheral role.
“To keep working hard, staying fit, eat healthy, sleep well, understand that football, you know, there are times, seasons or phases where you find a bit of setbacks from a personal level.
“I understand that season and that phase for myself. So it is just to stay fit, stay ready and when the opportunity comes, I’ll do my best.”
The 27-year-old will be aiming to retain his place in the line-up when Chiefs take on Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon (15h30).
