Given Msimango has revealed why he preferred a move to Kaizer Chiefs, with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns also chasing his signature.
Msimango, 26, is one of seven new Amakhosi signings this season so far and is expected to secure a spot in Molefi Ntseki’s starting eleven after joining from TS Galaxy.
The former Rockets captain had offers from Gauteng’s big three and explained that he was impressed with how much everyone at Chiefs wanted him at Naturena.
“It was important to go where I’m wanted and they made it very clear that everyone wanted me here,” he said when asked by iDiski Times.
“It wasn’t a split decision or anything like that. So when you are wanted in an environment you flourish as a player and it gives you the confidence to perform.
“For me, that was the key, it wasn’t just one individual wanting my service. When I saw that I couldn’t believe it – such a big club, such massive individuals who have achieved so much in the sport.
“I was just happy to come, to be mentored and to learn from the best. Here I am today and I’m learning and I’m happy about that.”
Msimango and Chiefs will open their 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign with a home fixture against Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday, 6 August.
