Nabi Gives Honest Opinion About Match-Winner Shabalala

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has heaped huge praise on Mduduzi Shabalala but equally admitted the youngster carries a lot of responsibility for a team of Chiefs’ stature.

Shabalala put in another impressive man-of the-match performance as his solitary goal ended Chiefs’ five match winless streak to see them move into seventh spot on the Betway Premiership standings.

The 20-year-old pacey winger netted his fourth goal of the campaign with a further two assists in all competitions and is currently Chiefs’ top goalscorer.

Against Chippa United, Shabalala skinned three defenders before connecting well with the ball by beating Stanley Nwabali at the near post to send the home crowd into raptures.

Nabi emphasized that Shabalala hasn’t been consistent but praised him and congratulated him for a good performance, stating that youngsters should learn from him.

“Most of the time I don’t want to speak about one particular player because I believe in the team spirit and collective mindset,” Nabi told the media.

“Shabalala has been good, not consistent but as well we feel that he carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders for such a big team like Kaizer Chiefs, and that sometimes puts a lot of pressure on him that’s why sometimes he’s good, sometimes very good but he is still young.
