Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says Sibongiseni Mthethwa is still part of his team after a move away from the club didn’t happen during the recent transfer window.
Mthethwa, 30, was one of the key signings Amakhosi faithful wanted ahead of the 2023/24 but he has somewhat struggled to live up to expecations.
There was talk of a potential loan to Magesi FC before Friday’s transfer deadline but the move didn’t materialise, with Nabi saying the midfielder is in his plans.
“We have 32 players and I have respect for all of them,” he said after his side’s 3-1 win at AmaZulu.
“Why do you only ask me about Mthethwa, I have other players as well. We are a group and we are all [united] as group.
“Mthethwa has good qualities, maybe after today he is starting for the Sundowns game.
“But I don’t want to talk too much about single players, I want to talk about all players.”
Chiefs, who started their campaign with two wins for the first time in five seasons, will face Mamelodi Sundowns in their next Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium at 15:00 on Saturday.
