Nabi On Lack Of PSL Coach Experience On Chiefs Bench

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has shrugged off suggestions that not having a South African born coach or a PSL experienced coach on his bench has a bearing on how the side is performing under his guidance.

Nabi is in first season as Amakhosi coach having come in to rebuild the team following one of their worst campaigns where they finished outside the top eight for the first time in their history.

The Tunisian coach has had a mixed bag of results winning just eight matches, drawing five and losing 10.

The coach was asked if not having anyone with background of the league in his technical team is also contributing to their challenges, with the former Yanga mentor saying skill has no nationality adding that he also did his homework on the league before accepting the job at Naturena.

“I don’t think the problem is that aspect,” said Nabi.

“I feel that everyone that wears a Kaizer Chiefs jersey is South African. I repeat, skills don’t have nationality you understand. And before I came to South Africa I analysed all the PSL. If you give me a question for game number 20, I’ll give you the performance of Kaizer Chiefs.

“And I want to finish, my staff if you take this jersey, you are South African you are a Khosi, and the problem is not about nationality and all my staff we know that if you are professional, you don’t need much time to analyse the PSL.”
