Ncikazi Sets Target For Final Pirates Friendly

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi hopes they can pick up their second pre-season win in their final game when they face Al-Sadd on Friday.

It will be Pirates’ fourth game of their camp in Europe and after draws against Plymouth Argyle and Granada, and a victory over Sevilla, the team is looking to end on a high against the Qatari opposition.

Speaking to the club’s media department, Ncikazi said the pre-season camp has gone well, and they’ll be looking to end on a positive note before returning to South Africa.

“I think it was a worthwhile project it was a worthwhile preseason,” Ncikazi told Pirates media.

“We pushed well, to take the team to where it is right now.

“The mentality is just an Orlando Pirates mentality, you win every match you win every training session. You win every training game and we instill that.

“So the last match we just want to play to win. Although we want to fulfil certain tactical objectives within the context, but the match must be won at the end of the day. We take that with us back into our country, into our league. I think it will be good for the team.”

The kick-off between the Buccaneers and Al-Sadd will be at 19:30 (SAST).
