Ndamane – The One Thing I Need to Improve Most

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana centre-back Khulumani Ndamane has opened up about the key area he believes needs significant improvement in his game.

The 22-year-old defender joined the Brazilians during the January transfer window, having signed at the start of the season before spending six months on loan at TS Galaxy.

Ndamane has since become a regular in the national setup, earning the trust of coach Hugo Broos and featuring at AFCON in Morocco between December and January.

Despite the praise he has received for his rapid progress, Ndamane admits he needs to improve his physicality, something he became aware of during the AFCON tournament.

“I think I must work on my physique, I think that will help me a lot,” said Ndamane on Sundowns’ Pitchside Podcast.

“I saw when we were in Morocco [at AFCON with Bafana Bafana]. It made me realise that I need to be strong.”

Regarding rubbing shoulders with successful and experienced players at Sundowns, Ndamane said he wants to learn from them to reach their level.

“As a young player, it’s highly motivational [to play with successful veterans]. Mine is to look up to them so that I can reach their level.”
