Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has appealed to the club’s supporters to remain patient as Amakhosi prepare for the upcoming season.
Chiefs recently returned from their pre-season training camp in Spain, where they fine-tuned their preparations for the new campaign.
During the tour, the Soweto giants played three friendly matches. They opened with a 1-1 draw with Scottish powerhouse Rangers, followed it up with another 1-1 stalemate with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Kholood, before wrapping up the trip with a narrow 2-1 defeat to Spanish La Liga side Elche CF.
Amakhosi are aiming to re-establish themselves as genuine contenders in domestic and continental competitions after several inconsistent seasons.
Ndlovu believes progress is being made and has urged the club’s faithful to trust the direction the team is taking under the guidance of Fernando da Cruz.
“I beg for our fans to be patient and trust the process because I believe we are currently building something special and the supporters are always a big part of it.”
Chiefs supporters will get their first chance towatch the team in action when Amakhosi face Zimbabwean side Scottland FC in the Toyota Cup on 26 July at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium inRustenburg.
