Former Moroka Swallows and TS Galaxy physiotherapist Brendan During has confirmed that he has joined Orlando Pirates.
During has two decades of experience as a physio, and has worked in football, rugby and cricket.
Last season the Wits graduate worked as Head Physiotherapist at Swallows, having previously worked at TS Galaxy, Black Leopards and in Wits Academy.
He also worked with the Cape Cobras the men’s team of the University of Johannesburg in the early stages of his career.
On Thursday, he confirmed his move to Pirates via his LinkedIn page, stating: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Physiotherapist at Orlando Pirates Football Club.”
During is the latest addition to Bucs’ technical team this season, following the arrival of former Young African SC strength and conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich in August.
Jose Riveiro had explained the club’s attempts to improve in all areas, not just when it comes to players and coaches but the technical team overall.
“The club is looking for improvement in every area… in areas that you know and areas that you don’t know, so that’s normal [to bring in a new conditioning coach],” Riveiro said in August after the addition of Gueldich.
“We are part of a club that is looking to permanently develop. We all know the reason why we are there, it’s to help the players to become better, help the team be better and make sure the history of the club improves season after season.
“So we are always looking for opportunities in every department and, yeah, without any exception.”
