Official: Another PSL Coach Departs

Durban City have announced the departure of Simo Dladla after failing to agree onto a new contract for the coach.

Dladla took over from Zipho Dlangalala, who had started the 2024/25 season and guided Durban City back to the Betway Premiership.

However, the now Durban-based club – former Maritzburg United – announced his departure over failing to agree new terms.

“Durban City Football Club can confirm that following a series of discussions, the Club and Head Coach Simo Dladla have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract of employment for the Betway Premiership Season,” the club stated.

“As such, Coach Dladla will not be continuing in his role with the Club going forward. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Coach Dladla for his efforts, professionalism and contribution during his time with Durban City FC. His efforts played a key role in the team’s progress and recent successes.

“The Club will now begin the process of identifying a new Head Coach to lead the team into the upcoming season and will provide further updates in due course.

“Further updates will be provided in due course.”
