Marumo Gallants have released a surprise statement on head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, saying they have received no official notification about his resignation.
“The Moroccan tactician had announced his departure via a press release on Saturday, but Gallants have now refuted the news, calling it “unverified reports”.
“Marumo Gallants Football Club wishes to clarify recent speculation concerning the status of Head Coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou.
“The Club can confirm that it has not received any formal communication or notice of resignation from Coach Ouaddou. In light of this, we will not be making any further comments on the unverified reports currently in circulation.
“We thank the media and our supporters for their understanding and will share any official developments as they become available.”
Ouaddou took charge of the club in March and guided them into safety, almost making the top eight as well. Out of 12 games, his side won five, drew four and lost just three, finishing in 10th place, just one point behind Richards Bay in eighth.
