Kwanele Kopo has opted not to renew his contract as Chippa United head coach and will leave with Thabo September taking charge assisted by Mabhuti Khenyeza.
Kopo joined the Chilli Boys in January 2024 on a one-year contract and aided the team in playing enterprising football that saw them in fourth spot at some stage during the campaign.

Despite being offered a further six months renewal at the Eastern Cape-based outfit, Kopo opted not to extend his stay citing family and personal priorities back in Johannesburg.
On Tuesday morning, the club released a statement confirming Kopo’s exit.

He outsaw Chippa’s 11 matches with four wins, two draws and five defeats as they currently occupy ninth spot after their narrow 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
