Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of defender Sandile Mthethwa ahead of the January transfer window.
Mthethwa hasn’t played for the Buccaneers since he last played an official match in April when Pirates defeated Royal AM 4-0.
The 27-year-old defender made 28 appearances in the famous black and white shirt of the Soweto giants after joining the club in 2016 from the KZN Academy and spent a couple of seasons on loan at Richards Bay and Chippa United.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born player won three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup trophies with the Sea Robbers.
Mthethwa faced stiff competition at the centre-back position from the likes of Nkosinathi Sibisi, Olisa Ndah, Thapelo Xoki, Thabiso Sesane, and Innocent Maela.
Pirates officially confirmed that they have parted ways with the lanky defender.
He can join a team of his choice but can only play in January as he has been released outside the window transfer.
