Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of midfielder Thapelo Mokobodi on a long-term deal from Marumo Gallants.
The 23-year-old joins a host of young and upcoming players to sign for the club as they will be competing in at least five different competitions in 2025/26.
Mokobodi could not hide his excitement, deeming his transfer to the Cape Winelands outfit as a ‘dream come true’.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play for Stellenbosch Football Club,” Mokobodi said.
“It’s a dream come true for me to be here because Stellenbosch has become one of the biggest clubs in the country and competes for silverware in all the big tournaments.
“It was an easy decision to join the club,” he added. “I believe they suit my style of play and that I’m going to really enjoy playing my football here.
“Stellenbosch has signed a soldier who will give his all for the club, and I can’t wait to show those qualities to the supporters and play in front of our home fans.”

Mokobodi will don the No. 29 jersey for both domestic and continental competitions this campaign.
