Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has provided an injury update on key players Thalente Mbatha and Evidence Makgopa.
Ouaddou was speaking at the post-match press conference following Pirates’ 1-1 Betway Premiership draw against AmaZulu at Kings Park on Wednesday.
Mbatha missed the clash, while Makgopa has yet to feature in all of Pirates’ matches this season.
The Pirates coach revealed that both players are still dealing with injuries they carried over from the previous campaign.
He added that the club’s medical department is working with the duo and expressed hope that their injuries are not serious.
“Yeah, they are actually between the hands of the medical department,” said Ouaddou.
“I think they had some problems since the last season that bothered them, both of them, underneath.
“I cannot give you more deep information about that, but I know it’s just they have some exam with the doctors to do and I hope it’s not so bad for them.
“But actually, both of them, they are injured.”
The Sea Robbers will remain in Durban for their next league encounter which is against Chippa United on Sunday, 16 August at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium at 15:00.
