Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has praised winger Relebohile Mofokeng, saying the love he gets from within the club is what keeps the player going.
Mofokeng played a full 90 minutes in Pirates’ 2-0 win over TS Galaxy in the league on Tuesday, having missed the side’s previous game with injury.
Mofokeng has been an impactful player for the Buccaneers since his promotion from the DDC side though this season there were scepticism about his form.
The coach said more than anything he values players as humans and gives them love, adding that Mofokeng knows he is loved in the club and it’s what keeps him giving the good performances he is showing.
“First of all, as a coach and as an ex-professional football player it’s important to give love to your players, to show them trust, to build strong values between your players,” said Ouaddou.
“This is very important. We are not speaking about tactics, we are not speaking about technique, we are speaking about a human being. These things are very important.
“The other thing is that he is in his house, he has some fantastic people in the club, the management, people who love him and he loves the club.
“So, he feels love inside the club, it’s what keeps him, and he was fantastic today and I was happy about his performance. I hope he will keep going like that and show the best of Rele.”
