Stellenbosch FC midfielder Langelihle Phili has opened up on his future amid rumors of interest from different clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs.
Phili, 21, has been at the centre stage of massive rumours in this transfer window after he had a great season with Stellenbosch. The strong and speedy winger has been linked with a move away from the Cape Winelands side, with reports in the local fraternity linking him with a move to Naturena.
Speaking with iDiski Times, Phili made it clear that he relies on his representatives, the Football First agency to make the best decision for his future, as they have been doing.
“I trusted my representatives with my transfer from AmaZulu FC to Stellenbosch FC, and I continue to trust them with whatever comes next,” Phili told iDiski Times’ Sinethemba Makonco in an exclusive interview.
“The ultimate goal is to compete alongside the best players in the world.”
The 2025/26 season could be the one that open doors for Phili after he had an impressive campaign, which resulted in him being rewarded at the Stellenbosch awards gala, as he walked away with four accolades, the Player’s Player of the Season, the Oshwin Andries Young Player of the Season, the Golden Boot and the Rama Fans’ Player of the Season.
“My season at the club has been a blessing. Although we didn’t achieve all of our team goals, avoiding relegation ensures we can compete again next year,” he said when asked to rate the previous campaign.
“On a personal note, I’m pleased with my performance, as I was able to step up and support the team through both the good and the tough moments.”
