Orlando Pirates were the biggest winners of the Betway Premiership monthly awards for November/December announced by the PSL on Wednesday morning.
The Buccaneers have had a remarkable turnaround of events in the past few months since experiencing a turbulent period at the beginning of the season.
They have thus walked away with the Coach of the Month award which goes to Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has taken Pirates to the top of the log standings with 28 points in 12 outings, bagging nine wins. The French-Moroccan tactician has already led The Ghost to two domestic cups – the MTN8 as well as the Carling Knockout Cup this past weekend.
This is Ouaddou’s second respective award after winning it in September/October beating Polokwane City head coach Phuthi Mohafe as well and AmaZulu’s Arthur Zwane.
Emerging Pirates talent Cemran Dansin walked away with the Goal of the Month gong for his audacious strike in their drama-filled 1-1 league clash against Mamelodi Sundowns. He came out tops between AmaZulu’s Riaan Hanamub’s top drawer against Golden Arrows and Durban City midfielder Haashim Domingo’s curler against Orbit College.
TS Galaxy’s Puso Dithejane earned the Player of the Month award with a goal and two assists as the Rockets moved into the top eight bracket, fending off competition from Pirates’ Oswin Appollis and AmaZulu FC’s Athini Maqokolo. It’s also the 21-year-old second monthly award after claiming it in August.
