Orlando Pirates collected an important 1-0 away win Chippa United to close their gap on Mamelodi Sundowns in the title race.
Jose Riveiro was back on the sideline for Pirates after his two-match ban, and the Spaniard made several changes to the starting XI, giving Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Siyabonga Ndlozi their starting XI debuts.
It was a pretty dull game for large parts of the first half, with Tshegofatso Mabasa having the best chance for Pirates but his shot from close range was too soft to trouble Stanley Nwabali after 38 minutes.
When it looked the teams would enter the break tied, Nkosinathi Sibisi headed home a corner at the near post in the second minute of first half injury-time.
Mohau Nkota had the first real chance of the second stanza but his shot from the right side of the box flew over the bar.

The Buccaneers continued to dominate the game, without creating many chances. However, and most importantly, they managed to prevent Chippa from any real scoring opportunities to secure an important three points.
The win saw Pirates cut their gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to 16 points with four games in hand.
