Orlando Pirates have finished their European tour unbeaten, after drawing 0-0 with LaLiga side UD Las Palmas on Wednesday.
The Buccaneers first faced Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv on 13 July and beat them 1-0 thanks to a goal by new signing Patrick Maswanganyi.
Two days later, the Buccaneers came from behind to beat Ecuadorian Serie A side Independiente del Valle 3-1.
Souaibou Marou, Fortune Makaringe and Maswanganyi scored the three goals for Jose Riveiro’s side.
On Wednesday, they faced newly-promoted LaLiga side UD Las Palmas and played out to a goalless draw.
It was a tight game with not too many chances for either side, with the Buccaneers dominating early on before Las Palmas came better into the game after the drinks break in the 25th minute.
Pirates’ best chances came in the second half, and Zakhele Lepasa had the ball in the back of the net after 59 minutes but he was flagged offside. Lepasa had another chance to open the score but was denied by the Las Palmas goalkeeper in a one-on-one in the 69th minute.
Riveiro started Wednesday’s game with the following line-up: Chaine, Xoki, Sibisi, Monyane, Mako, Monare, Timm, Maswanganyi, Saleng, Dlamini, Erasmus
