Pirates Leave It Late At Orlando

Goodman Mosele was the hero for Orlando Pirates as they rallied from a goal down to beat Cape Town City 2-1 at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The home side had the first chance on target in the third minute, but Relebohile Mofokeng’s shot was too tame.

Thalente Mbatha then attempted a long range shot three minutes later which fell kindly to Darren Keet.

Pirates almost took a gifted lead in the 11th minute after Idumba Fasika’s attempted clearance hit off the crossbar with Keet beaten.

Patrick Maswanganyi missed a glorious chance to give Pirates the lead in the 18th minute after his curler from close range went agonisingly wide.

It was however the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through Hashim Domingo for his first goal of the season making it 1-0.

Sipho Chaine was forced into an acute angle safe from Jaedin Rhodes in the 35th minute.

Keet kept the scores unchanged with a superb safe in the 41st minute from Mofokeng’s effort.

Pirates leveled matters in the 66th minute through Tshegofatso Mabasa from Mohau Nkota’s assist to make it 1-1.

In the 70th minute, Phillip Ndlondlo unleashed a ferocious shot from 30 yards out, but Keet was equally up to the task.

When it looked like the two sides would share the spoils, Goodman Mosele stepped up to score the winner in the 87th minute, 2-1 Pirates.
