Golden Arrows coach Pitso Dladla has reflected on his time in charge since replacing Manqoba Mngqithi, with the coach encouraged by the progress made so far.
Dladla has enjoyed a positive start with Abafana Bes’thende, guiding the team to the MTN8 semi-finals, where they were eventually knocked out by Mamelodi Sundowns.
After keeping six consecutive clean sheets, Arrows conceded three goals for the first time as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Sundowns in the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final.
In the league, Arrows have collected six points from their opening four matches.
Dladla believes the team is improving from where it was when the coaching staff arrived at the club.
He also feels Arrows’ established blueprint has made the transition easier, as it provides a clear understanding of the style of football expected and suits the profile of players already at the club.
“Us as coaches, we need to improve the team every time and I believe that we’re doing that,” said Dladla.
“But then, another thing that’s helping us for the team and individuals to improve is that Golden Arrows has a blueprint.
“When you arrive here, there’s a clear blueprint that tells you what kind of the game you can play with the type of players the club brings.
“So, there’s no type of football that we can play except the one we’re playing. I think the culture of Golden Arrows helps as a new coach for you to know what to do.”
