The Betway Premiership match between Golden Arrows and Magesi FC was abandoned with only a few minutes left to play due to a power cut at Mpumalanga Stadium – here is what the rules say.
Wonderboy Makhubu scored for the newly-promoted side in the 79th minute to give them the lead against an Arrows side that had won their opening two games.
However, with Magesi looking to win their first match of the season, the match was halted after 86 minutes with the lights switching off.
The match was eventually abandoned and will now have to be completed within the next 48 hours, as per the NSL rule book (see 14.16.).
UPDATE: The Premier Soccer League have confirmed the game will resume at 12pm on Thursday from the 86th minute, as per the NSL hand book.
