Orlando Pirates came from a goal down to settle for a 1-1 draw in their second preseason friendly match against Pafos FC at the Marbella Football Center on Sunday afternoon.
Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou rang five changes with Deano van Rooyen, Kabelo Dlamini, Thalente Mbatha and Yanela Muthuma all making starts.
It took just six minutes for the Cypriot champions to get on the scoreboard via João Correia into the top left corner giving Sipho Chaine no chance.
Mbuthuma was put through on goal by Dlamini in the 19th minute but put his shot wide before Mbekezeli Mbokazi saw his effort from range parried out for a corner.
The Buccaneers pulled matters level through Relebohile Mofokeng who beat the offside to latch onto Oswin Appollis’ low cross to make it 1-1.
At the start of the second period, young goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla replaced Sipho Chaine in goals while Cemran Dansin came in place of Mbule and Boitumelo Radiopane took Mbuthuma’s place upfront.
Those introductions were then shortly followed by Lebone Seema, Karim Kimvuidi, Patrick Maswanganyi, Tshepho Mashiloane, Simphiwe Selepe, Nkosikhona Ndaba and Tshepang Moremi.
Nothing really came off the second stanza with chances far and few between the two sides who settled for a share of spoils.
