Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has discussed facing Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby after they’ve just changed coaches.
Chiefs recently appointed former Al Ahly SC assistant coach Calvin Johnson on an interim basis.
Johnson already has two matches under his belt, winning one and losing one.
Coming to this fixture, Chiefs can draw confidence from their recent dominance in the Soweto Derby after they’ve won the last five league derbies.
Riveiro believes that this special fixture is bigger than everybody on the sidelines and even a new coach won’t have that much impact.
“It’s the same, with the new coach, new group of players, some new players in each and every team, Chiefs is not an exception,” Riveiro said.
“I think they’re trying to find a way, it’s early to get so many conclusions about the way they want to do the things.
“Like I said this game is different, individual a different approach, those different elements that are going to be part of the game probably is the one who’s gonna manage to dictate the tempo and the type of game we want to play.
“Hopefully especially for the spectators we can offer a bit of a show, more than in the recent ones in the league, probably not beautiful games, small margins, not many goals and hopefully this time it can be different.”
