Royal AM Make Shock Announcement

Royal AM have announced that Sinky Mnisi has returned from his family responsibility leave and is back at the club.

Mnisi had placed himself on “special leave” at the club after initially being suspended by owner Shawn ‘Ma’ Mkhize in July 2022, following some controversy regarding John Maduka leaving to join Maritzburg United and the appointment of coach Khabo Zondo, amongst other things.

But he only officially left the club in January 2023 after a first return “from special leave”. In August 2023, he was unveiled as new CEO by Marumo Gallants but he resined just three months later and has now returned to Thwihli Thwahla.

“Royal AM Football Club is pleased to announce the return of Sinky Misi, who has rejoined the club from his family responsibility leave. Effective immediately, Mnisi will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the next three years, where he will be instrumental in driving the club’s vision and operational excellence,” the club stated.

“During his absence, Sinky has remained committed to the values and goals of Royal AM FC, and his return is met with enthusiasm by team members and supporters alike. With extensive experience and a deep understanding of the club’s culture and ambitions, Mnisi is uniquely positioned to lead Royal AM into an exciting new chapter.

“In his role as COO, Sinky will focus on several key areas: Operational Strategy: Implementing efficient operational processes to enhance performance both on and off the field. Talent Development: Fostering a strong youth program that nurtures local talent and prepares youth for professional success. Sustainability: Enhancing the club’s brand and reputation in sustainable practices within the sports industry.

“To our valued supporters and media partners, we are currently focusing our efforts on seamlessly integrating Sinky Mnisi back into the club in his new capacity. We will not be conducting interviews at this time.

“We will make further announcements regarding our future direction and insights at a later date via press conference.

“We appreciate your understanding and continued support as Royal AM FC embarks on this new chapter with Sinky Mnisi leading our operations.”

Mnisi will have his work cut out, with the club still under a transfer ban over the non-payment of Samir Nurkovic, which the club has taken to the CAS. However, they enter the 204/25 Betway Premiership without being able to sign players for a second season running, which has seen them forfeit two DStv Diski Challenge games already.
