Rulani Mokwena said he enjoyed the tactical battle between his Mamelodi Sundowns team and Cape Town City in their goalless draw on Sunday at the DHL Stadium.
It was an intriguing game, as City became the first team to not lose to Sundowns in the DStv Premiership this season.
There was a good tactical battle between Mokwena and Eric Tinkler’s team, and when asked by iDiski Times whether he enjoyed challenging games like against City, he concurred, though he did stress he wished it had been at a different time in the calendar.
“Ja, they pressed well, we pressed well at times,” Mokwena responded.
“They built up well. We built up well also at times. But ja, I enjoy those.
“It’s just that it comes at the wrong time of the year you know. There’s quite a lot on my mind and there’s a lot of mental fatigue, but of course you’ve got to stay sharp and you’ve got to try and help the team and also participate in the game.
“But they’re a good team and a very difficult team to play against, but that’s why I’m very proud of the group.
“We tried our best to win the game for sure.”
