Mamelodi Sundowns striker Arthur Sales says he is pleased with how they have started the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season despite having a short preseason.
The defending champions face Magesi FC in Seshego on Wednesday, having picked up four points from their two league matches to sit in fifth place on the log table, five points from leaders Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs.
Their hosts have managed two points from their opening fixtures and are currently in 12th position.
The Brazilian has been in good form, scoring a goal and recording two assists so far in the league, and he says though Sundowns have started well they can do better and keep improving.
“I’m very happy with the start of the league,” said Sales.
“Because you know it’s difficult when you have a short pre-season and then you start the league. Same time the things don’t happen nicely, but we proved this one for the right way. I think it’s a nice start and of course we need to improve, and we need to show more.
“The first one against Chippa we could have been better, I think the first one was a little bit anxious and the second one I think we go the right way against AmaZulu we won the game properly.
“I think now we go against Magesi it’s difficult to talk before the game, but I think we’ll give it our best. I’ll try to score goals and to win the match.”
