Seema On Ex-Chiefs Talent’s Return To The Top-flight

Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has played down the debut of former Kaizer Chiefs forward Keletso Sifama.

Sifama came on as a second-half substitute for captain Linda Mntambo before his side equalised to salvage a point against Stellenbosch.

The 21-year-old joined Sekhukhune in September last year following his exit from Kaizer Chiefs where he couldn’t quite solidify his place in the senior set-up where he made his debut four years ago.

The striker played just three matches in all competitions for Amakhosi and five at Maritzburg United during a loan spell.

He has also featured for Pretoria Callies and Casric Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and now rebuilding his career at Sekhukhune.

Seema said Sifama has impressed in their reserve team which is why he got the promotion.

“I don’t know where were you, this guy has been playing he scored even last week in the DDC,” he said after the 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch on Wednesday evening.

“So when you say it has been a long time since he played football I can tell that let’s rephrase the question. But he has been with our DDC, he has been doing well and he’s one of the guys that we have promoted.

“And he is not new in the Premier League. He has tasted it so you can see even his confidence, once he gets to understand the relationships, once he starts to understand and get there, we will get there.

“It’s nothing different or nothing surprising for us because he’s training with us we see him.”
